NET/TEN Review Process

• Grant applications are reviewed by peer panelists from the field. Panels for Travel Grants and Continuation Grants are composed of three reviewers; panels for Exchange Grants have five reviewers. Panels review applications and make funding recommendations independently to the NET staff in accordance with the program’s goals and selection criteria.

• Peer panelists are selected for their knowledge of and professional qualifications in ensemble practices, familiarity with NET's mission and services, and ability to give critical feedback. To support an equitable review process, NET assembles panels that include a mix of gender, cultural background, age, geography, and other criteria that reflect the diversity of the field. Panelists serve for a single application round; the makeup of the panel therefore changes with each review cycle.

• Applicants will receive confirmation of receipt upon submission, and award notification by email within 5-6 weeks of submission.

• All applicants may request a phone session for feedback about their grant proposal following notification.
