NET has a new proposal submission system, and it is still a work in progress. As in years past, we strongly suggest drafting your responses in a Word document or Google document so that you can easily cut and paste them into the application, and to ensure that you have a separate, saved record of your work in case you experience any issues with the online form.
To view a brief overview of the new submission system, check out this video.
Unlike our previous grant portal, this website does not allow you to save and edit your answers before submitting.
Only use the buttons on the form to navigate between the four steps of the proposal form. Do not use your back and forward buttons, as it will cause you to lose your progress.
You do not need to log in to this website to apply for a travel grant
If you run into issues, contact netten@ensembletheaters.net to request assistance prior to the deadline.
Character limits have been removed for the narrative questions on the application in order to have applicants focus on the quality of responses versus spending time editing. This decision is in the spirit of our commitment to equity to allow more applicants to express themselves in a way that works best for them. All applicants are encouraged to keep responses simple and direct and there is no expectation of receiving long responses. For more information on a discussion surrounding character limits, please check out an article on the blog Nonprofit AF, We need to have a serious talk about character limits on grant applications."
THE TRAVEL GRANT APPLICATION IS CURRENTLY CLOSED.
APPLICANTS WILL BE NOTIFIED THE WEEK OF JUNE 13, 2022

Letters must be submitted as PDF documents, either on letterhead or as a copy of an original email from the project partner’s email address. Letters should be limited to one page. • What role(s) will each partner undertake in this next phase of the relationship?
Project Goals & Outcomes:
• What are the collaboration’s artistic goals?
• What impact might this project have on each partner’s art-making and/or organizational operations? Please include specific ways that you anticipate partners will employ new processes and practices that strengthen their art-making, increase their competency for travel-based exchanges/tours, or expand their capacity to function as hosts/presenters for performance.

Equity/Diversity/Inclusion:
How does your work, your ensemble/organization (if applicable), and/or your proposed activities reflect NET’s values of equity and inclusion? Please read NET’s Equity in Funding Statement and Accountability Statement to inform your response. How are you currently addressing systemic inequities or incorporating anti-racism, anti-oppression practices into your work -- and/or how are you challenging yourselves to move forward in these areas?

Use this budget template to show how you would expend a $10,000 grant. Please provide expenses and income for the full project; include notes to identify how these amounts were determined. Additional sources of income should be listed as secured or pending.

IF YOU RECEIVE A GRANT:
Final Report
Upon project completion, each grantee is required to submit a final report, which will include both a narrative and a financial reporting component. NET will withhold 20% of grant funds until the final report is received. Any grantee that fails to submit this required report will not be eligible for future NET funding (grants or member subsidies).
Sharebacks
Building field knowledge is a primary goal of the NET/TEN program. Thus, in addition to a final report, grantees and their participating partners will be asked to provide NET with at least one piece of content that we can share publicly as part of the NET/TEN Shareback Library.
Sharebacks are not intended to document the work; instead the materials provided should be tutorial or instructive and focus on the most exciting, innovative, and instructional portions of your activities that may be helpful to other artists or ensembles embarking on similar projects or investigations.
NET welcomes your questions at any time prior to submitting an application, or throughout the review process. Please contact program staff at: netten@ensembletheaters.net
