As we celebrate and honor Native heritage and culture, we want to amplify the voices and work of Indigenous artists, ensembles, and organizations who are making an impact through their art, advocacy, and cultural preservation. Sharon M. Day
Sharon M. Day is enrolled in the Bois Forte Band of Ojibwe, and makes her home in Minnesota, where she is a founder and executive director of the Indigenous Peoples Task Force, a vital provider of culturally appropriate health services, programs and housing. She is a grandmother, great-grandmother, and an artist, musician, and writer. Support Sharon Day’s work
Maura García Dance (Maura The Dancer)
Maura García (Maura The Dancer) (non-enrolled Cherokee/Mattamuskeet) is a dancer, dance-maker, erotic artist, and facilitator. She inspires people to liberate themselves through vibrant performances that channel the sensual rhythms of the natural world. From theater stages, to nightclubs, to museums, to conferences, to universities, to private events, to site-specific outdoor performances, Maura’s powerful work transforms time and space. Amber Kay Ball
Born in Portland, Oregon, Amber Kay Ball is a theatre maker, visual artist, and community-based advocate. As a contemporary Native multi-practice artist, Amber uses theatre, multimedia, and beadwork as mediums for sharing stories, truths, laughter and joy. These mediums allow them to critically explore, honor, and weave Native pasts, presents, and futures in a just and liberated format.
