A LETTER FROM THE BRIDGE: As winter falls we move from the outside in.

Well, hello beloved creatures. It's been a minute since my last letter. Since then so much has happened so much is emerging. We have allowed this process to live as a devised strategic planning process. We invited NET members past, present and future into the room. We extended an invitation to think of NET not just as an organization but as a community. We have heard from some though not all of you. We gathered in circles on line and in person in New Orleans. As this process of community devising has moved forward values of the work are emerging. Let me be clear, these values are not aesthetics, but rather approaches to the work. In these next steps we carry these values as we invite members to join us as we expand this inquiry learning from the wisdom of ensemble practice and beyond the field of ensemble and also by learning from the wisdom deep within the organization NET.

More soon.

In abundance,
Severin Blake

Emergent Values: A Haiku

Flexibility:
iterative space
imaginative playtime
here we speak in draft

Failure:
feedback loops in place
more than positivity
a spectrum grief and joy

Generative Disagreement:
We take time to hear
process and response, struggling
together for change

Collective Care:
what does the field need
members, org, board, and the staff
How can these needs meet?

Curiosity:
Asking hard questions
sun set, rise, solar eclipse?
limits and desire

Patience:
Rough Cultivation
Repetition, Rest, Renew
Calls for Clarity

Limitations:
the NET of before
release ALL expectations
NET next emerging.
