Network of Ensemble Theaters Announces

Recipients of NET/TEN Virtual Exploration Grants

Network of Ensemble Theaters (NET) is pleased to announce the recipients of the Summer 2021 round of NET Touring & Exchange Network (NET/TEN) Virtual Exploration Grants. NET/TEN prioritizes relationship building and knowledge sharing. The grants are intended to create new opportunities for reciprocal exchanges with peers and colleagues to share information, techniques, inspiration, expertise, and performances among ensembles to strengthen the work of individual ensembles and the field as a whole. NET/TEN grants encourage open-ended explorations without the pressure of finished products or projects; they are designed to be flexible and to support a wide range of activities.

NET has seen ensembles and artists continue to adapt their practices amid safety concerns, financial uncertainty, and emotional loss due to the impact of the continuing pandemic. In order to continue supporting members during this time NET created the Virtual Exploration Grants which encourages initiating relationships at a distance, while building toward future in-person work that is safe and supported.

Through NET's Summer 2021 NET/TEN Virtual Exploration Grants, NET has provided support to a breadth of their members to build relationships across distance and further community healing, reflection, and learning. NET awarded $100,000 in funding to 118 ensembles and individual artists across 25 states and Puerto Rico.
