The Future Is Ensemble
NET is a lifeline. A practice ground. A sanctuary. A refusal to disappear, a refuge, a rallying point, and a catalyst.
Your investment ensures that ensemble artists and collective creation practices endure this moment of upheaval. We know our field depends on the integrity of our interdependence. If we work together, there is abundance for us all. And so we gather—again and again—not just to respond to the fiery moment we’re living through but to activate and enact what is possible when we lean in, when we dare to be radically beholden to each other and ourselves.
With your support, we can realize the plan forged through the NETneXt community-devised re-envisioning process. Let's complete the NET transformation and co-create a future worth fighting for. A future where collective creation, ensemble practice, ensemble organizations, ensemble artists, scholars, and collective change-makers are supported, celebrated, resourced, and sustained. The Future IS Ensemble—we invite you to co-create it with us.
Your tax-deductible gift of any size allows us to maintain our 501(c)(3) status so we can continue to:
Research, develop, and launch a shared cooperative employment agreement that offers freelancers and organizations access to affordable healthcare.
Convene and gather to share knowledge and build a resilient and interconnected community.
Advocate strategically and build pathways for learning how best to take direct action on local, regional, and federal levels. This includes:
Creating and passing legislation that positively impacts the most expansive swatch of the ensemble arts sector, especially those working at the intersection of justice and liberation.
Work across sectors and build partnerships through solidarity economy principles and mutual aid.
Create resources that center on and serve artists to face the challenges of the current times.
Expand our pilot fiscal sponsorship program, designed the ENSEMBLE WAY.
We believe there is a better way to serve and support artists and organizations in raising the resources they need to create the work they dream of.
Stay In The NET
NET defines a performance-based ensemble as a group of individuals dedicated to collaborative creation, committed to working together consistently over years to develop a distinctive body of work, practices, and ways of being. Ensemble members, both artists and administrators, are empowered as core decision-makers and help to shape their company's artistic direction, values, processes, and organizational structure. But NET serves and comprises more than performance ensembles, collectives, and individual ensemble practitioners. We embrace the most expansive definition of ensemble: how we gather and build something bigger than ourselves. We know that transformation is not the work of one but of many.
The Network needs your continued and dedicated support.
Give To The Network That Holds Us All Together
The Network of Ensemble Theaters (NET) is a national collective and community of organizations, artists, organizers, and cultural workers committed to the power of collaborative creation as a force for artistic innovation, cultural organizing, and systemic change. We're more than a service organization; we're a member-led, action-oriented movement that advocates for ensemble practice, mutual aid, and local, regional, and solidarity economies.
When you support NET, you're reinforcing the breathing, living network that catches artists and practitioners who create together. You're joining the web, becoming part of the collective of dreamers, organizers, scholars, and those building from a shared practice.
If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together.
Team NET: A rotating community of stewards — dreaming bravely with you and into the future.
